Job summary

The Cigna Group is hiring an Intake Care Representative for Evernorth CarepathRx infusion services. You will be the first contact for patients, providers, and facilities, guiding them through the intake process and gathering essential information to start care quickly.

Responsibilities include triaging referrals, coordinating home health services, and ensuring accurate records in the system, all while protecting patient confidentiality and delivering excellent service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in healthcare support roles.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Strong organizational skills and commitment to customer service.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, responding to calls and providing timely, professional support throughout the intake process.
• Help patients understand next steps, gather required information, and connect them with appropriate care teams.
• Handle inbound and outbound communication with patients, providers, hospitals, and offices regarding referrals and care coordination.
• Support timely patient onboarding by gathering, reviewing, and entering referral information into systems.
• Receive and triage referral packets and documents to appropriate teams for processing.
• Coordinate home health services based on patient needs, location, and insurance requirements.
• Verify patient treatment timelines including first-dose administration and home infusion scheduling needs.
• Upload and maintain patient records in the medical record system.
• Partner with Intake Coordinators and nurses to move referrals efficiently.
• Communicate updates to prevent delays in care.
• Facilitate transfer of insurance information to Verification teams.
• Deliver exceptional service while maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Support departmental operations through admin tasks and document distribution.
