Job summary

The Cigna Group is seeking an Intake Care Representative with Evernorth/CarepathRx infusion expertise to be the first point of contact for patients, providers, and facilities. You will guide referrals, gather information, and ensure timely onboarding with care teams across the network.

This role emphasizes strong communication, meticulous record-keeping, and coordination of home health services, while maintaining patient confidentiality and high service standards in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year in healthcare, medical office, pharmacy, home health, or related environment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office apps (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, responding to calls and providing timely support through the intake process.
• Explain next steps, gather information, and connect patients with care teams to support a positive experience.
• Coordinate inbound/outbound communication with patients, providers, hospitals, and offices regarding referrals.
• Support onboarding by gathering, reviewing, and entering referral information into company systems.
• Receive and triage referral packets and documentation to appropriate teams.
• Coordinate home health services based on patient needs, location, and insurance.
• Verify patient treatment timelines, including first-dose administration and home infusion scheduling.
• Upload and maintain accurate patient records in the medical record system.
• Partner with Intake Coordinators and nurses to move referrals efficiently.
• Communicate referral updates to prevent delays in care.
• Facilitate transfer of insurance information to Verification teams.
• Deliver excellent service while maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Support departmental operations with administrative tasks, phone support, and document distribution.
• Contribute to a collaborative, quality-focused, patient-centered environment.
