Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking an Intake Specialist to support patient access by coordinating referrals, reviewing clinical documentation, and ensuring services are set up accurately and efficiently.

You will collaborate with patients, providers, and internal teams to navigate insurance requirements and eligibility, contributing to timely and compliant intake processing in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of relatable work experience required.
• HS Diploma or Associate degree in healthcare/administration or related field.
• Experience in admin, clerical, insurance, billing, call center, or customer service preferred but not required.
• Healthcare organization experience is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review documentation and payer guidelines to determine eligibility and compliance.
• Communicate with patients about financial responsibility and collect payments when applicable.
• Contact patients when documentation does not meet payer requirements.
• Coordinate with referral sources and clinical teams to obtain complete documentation.
• Enter referrals within established timeframes and maintain accurate records.
