Job summary

AdaptHealth, LLC is seeking an Intake Specialist to support patient access by coordinating referrals, reviewing clinical documentation, and ensuring services are set up accurately and efficiently. You will work with patients, providers, and internal teams to navigate insurance requirements and move intake forward smoothly.

The role suits detail-oriented individuals with strong communication and collaboration skills in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of relatable work experience required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; healthcare admin related education preferred.
• Experience in healthcare intake, insurance or billing is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review referrals, medical records, and payer guidelines to determine eligibility.
• Communicate with patients about financial responsibility and collect payments when applicable.
• Coordinate with referral sources, physicians, and clinical teams to obtain complete documentation.
• Enter referrals within established timeframes while meeting productivity and quality standards.
• Navigate multiple EMR and online systems to manage documentation.
• Assist with insurance verification and intake process with internal teams.
• Answer incoming calls and provide professional assistance to patients and referral sources.
• Participate in on-call rotation and support team operations as needed.
