Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program.
• Ability to learn and use EMR/EHR systems and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and office equipment experience.
• Understanding of HIPAA and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage front-desk workflow with a welcoming manner.
• Check in patients and collect documentation (ID, insurance, referrals).
• Verify demographics and insurance information; obtain consents as needed.
• Communicate appointment details clearly to patients and providers.
• Handle phone inquiries and appointment scheduling efficiently.
• Maintain clean, organized reception/waiting areas.
• Collect copays and reconcile charges; document transactions.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist clinical staff as needed.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies.
