Job summary

Panoramic Health is seeking a Back Office Medical Assistant to support both administrative and clinical tasks within a physician office. You will handle check-in/check-out, scheduling, patient intake, vitals, and coordinate with providers for exams and tests.

The role requires proficiency with athenaClinicals EMR, basic data entry, and HIPAA compliance. Prior nephrology or dialysis exposure is a plus; 1 year of MA experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current AAMA Certification or equivalent preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of MA experience in a physician office.
• Familiarity with athenaClinicals EMR and PMD Soft is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and perform Check-in/Check-out procedures, collecting co-pays and balances.
• Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage clinical inboxes in athenaClinicals.
• Room patients, collect vitals, reconcile meds, and record data in the EMR.
• Determine priority for patient calls and messages; consult with provider as needed.
• Process specimen collection and follow CLIA regulations.
• Assist with referrals to specialty care, imaging or labs as ordered.
• Call patients with test results or instructions from physicians.
• Prepare for visits and reminder calls for lab work two weeks prior to appointments.
• Scan and attach medical records; process incoming faxes and lab results.
• Assist with payment batches and maintain office cash transactions.
• Process medication authorizations and refills; organize drug sample closet.
• Reschedule patients and manage waitlists via athenaClinicals reminders.
• Exercise sound judgment in stressful situations.
• May train other staff or students.
• Perform other duties as required.
