Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• AAMA Certified or other equivalent certification preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• At least 1-year of MA experience in a physician office.
• Broad understanding of clinical operations and physician office practice.
• athenaClinicals EMR experience.
• Experience with PMD Soft and other secure clinical applications.
• Ability to perform basic patient data entry into athenaClinicals and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and manages check-in/check-out; collects co-pays and balances.
• Answers phone calls; schedules appointments; maintains clinical inboxes in athenaClinicals.
• Rooms patients; takes vitals; records data in athenaClinicals; assists with exams and procedures.
• Determine response priority for calls and messages; document appropriately.
• Coordinate referrals to specialty care, imaging or labs as ordered by physician.
• Call patients with test results or instructions; prepare for visits and lab work.
• Process medication authorizations and refills; manage drug sample closet.
