Job summary

The position requires basic healthcare revenue cycle experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to verify coverage for inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least 6 months in healthcare setting and/or revenue cycle department or customer service experience.
• At least 1 year experience in healthcare setting and/or revenue cycle department or customer service experience.
• Experience with insurance verification/identification, Microsoft Office, Medical Terminology.

Responsibilities

• Interview and review uninsured or underinsured patients daily; obtain third party billing information or establish payment arrangements.
• Perform financial clearance including Medicaid, HCAP, or Charity program.
• Verify coverage for Outpatient, Inpatient and Ambulatory Surgery Services and provide financial counseling.
• Make recommendations for third party financial assistance programs or payment plans.
• Participate in Process Improvement Initiatives and education forums as required.
