As part of a large, collaborative health system, you will use EPIC and MS Office to support accurate patient records, minimize duplicates, and ensure a seamless patient experience while upholding HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1+ year experience in insurance/healthcare.
• Excellent customer service and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and confidentiality.
• Experience with PC applications including MS Office and Internet.
• Willingness to meet employer training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collect coverage information from patients or designees.
• Use health IT systems and phone tech to ensure accessible service.
• Search EPIC to locate patient records and reduce duplicates.
• Assess financial ability and refer to counseling when appropriate.
• Send eligibility requests to payors to verify coverage.
• Maintain relationships with medical staff and physicians.
• Provide financial liability education and collect copayments/deposits.
• Escalate system/workflow issues.
