Aurora Behavioral Health System in Glendale, AZ seeks a motivated Financial Counselor to manage patient accounts, verify benefits, and arrange payments. This role supports the Business Office Manager and requires independent work and strong communication with clients and staff.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of collections experience and proficiency with Excel/Word, with Behavioral Health experience preferred. This is a full-time, in-person position in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year collections experience.
• Must be able to meet qualifications for AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Verifying insurance benefits and translating the information to the client.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong communication skills – verbal and in writing.
• Collections of deductible/copays.
• Processing of credit card payments.
• Account research and inquiry assistance.
• Ability to make sound financial arrangements according to the hospital's financial policy.
• Professional communication with internal/external clients, Physician's and team members.
• Excel and Word computer skills a must.
• Behavioral Health experience is preferred.
• HEA and AZ AHCCCS experience a plus.
