Job summary

Mercy Clinic Heart and Vascular is seeking a Part Time Patient Service Representative to manage front desk operations and patient check-in/out, while providing exceptional service. The role supports EPIC charting, scheduling, and billing tasks in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma and customer service experience; strong communication and data entry skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients; verify identity and manage check‑in/check‑out
• Answer phones and perform clerical tasks including Epic charting, scanning, faxing, and document handling
• Schedule appointments, procedures, and testing; provide timely estimates and Good Faith Estimates
• Monitor provider schedules, communicate delays, and coordinate with staff to ensure efficient clinic flow
• Maintain accurate registration, EHRs, and assigned work queues
• Handle patient concerns professionally and elevate as needed
• Manage daily cash drawer, accounts receivable tasks, and payment plans
• Support EPIC updates, departmental initiatives, and clinic communications
• Maintain a safe, clean reception area and adhere to safety, privacy, and infection control policies
• Perform other duties as assigned
