Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a clerical receptionist to handle front-desk duties, patient check-in, and Epic-based scheduling and registration. The role includes answering calls, greeting visitors, processing messages, and supporting daily clerical tasks in a healthcare setting.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma, some medical reception experience, and basic Epic knowledge. The position is on-site with opportunities for cross-location coverage.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous medical reception or reception experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Epic preferred.
• Good interpersonal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Answers incoming telephone calls and routes to appropriate personnel.
• Retrieves messages and forwards to appropriate personnel.
• Welcomes on-site visitors and manages lobby flow.
• Maintains equipment and supplies, and processes mail and faxes.
• Schedules patient appointments and handles registration in Epic.
• Loads and verifies patient demographics and insurance coverage.
• Collects co-pays and posts payments in Epic.
• Performs cashiering and daily cash reconciliation.
• Ensures patient privacy and HIPAA compliance.
