Job summary

Intermountain Health Fort Lupton Clinic is seeking a Patient Service Representative to be the first point of contact for patients, delivering courteous service and accurate data entry in the EMR. You will greet patients, schedule appointments, verify demographics and insurance information, and support billing processes, while upholding privacy and PHI safeguards.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience.
• Basic computer skills for word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to protect PHI and patient privacy.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous and professional connections with patients by phone, in person, or secure messaging.
• Resolve patient needs related to intake and care to ensure a superior experience.
• Document all calls accurately and completely in the EMR.
• Schedule patient appointments for visits, procedures, diagnostic tests, referrals, and consultations.
• Register patients by confirming, entering, and updating all required demographic data on the registration system.
• Obtain copies of insurance cards, forms of ID, and signatures; verify COB and pre-authorization as needed.
• Assist patients in completing forms for regulatory and billing needs; educate on financial assistance; process payments.
• Stay current on role responsibilities and communications to maintain high performance.
