Virginia Oral & Facial Surgery in Richmond, VA is seeking a Patient Service Representative to join our front desk team. You will welcome patients, verify demographics and insurance, schedule appointments, collect payments, and maintain organized records in a fast-paced oral surgery environment.

Two years of customer service, experience in a medical/dental setting, and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Two years of customer service experience required.
• Experience in a medical or dental practice required.
• Knowledge of insurance processes and verifications.
• Ability to multitask.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Confirm and update patient identification, demographic, and insurance information.
• Prepare patient charts and documentation for upcoming appointments.
• Perform all check-in and check-out functions, including collecting necessary information and payments.
• Obtain patient consents/authorizations and process insurance pre-authorizations and referrals.
• Answer incoming calls promptly, document messages, and route inquiries to appropriate personnel.
• Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments as needed.
• Maintain accurate and organized medical records.
• Support overall front-office operations and assist with other duties as assigned.
