Job summary

Jefferson Health Plans is seeking a Patient Services Associate II to enhance the patient experience by handling arrival and departure activities, verifying demographics, insurance, referrals, and pre authorizations.

The PSA II ensures HIPAA compliance, maintains smooth flow to examination rooms, greets patients, and uses EPIC for scheduling and check-in/out.

Requires HS Diploma, customer service experience in healthcare preferred; rotating shifts at a Philadelphia-area facility.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service and/or patient facing healthcare experience preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA privacy and security requirements is expected.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Processes check in and/or check out, scheduling of patient appointments via EPIC.
• Obtains pre certifications and/or pre authorizations for procedures.
• Maintains efficient flow of practice and escalates patient and/or provider concerns as appropriate.
• Greets and interacts with patients/visitors in a professional manner, on phone or in person.
• Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
• Other duties as requested or assigned.
