Job summary

Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles seeks a Patient Service Representative to deliver outstanding customer service in a multi-specialty setting. You will handle inbound and outbound calls, schedule appointments, register patients, and collect payments while ensuring accurate demographics and insurance data.

You will greet patients, resolve issues, manage check-in/check-out, verify insurance in CS-Link, process referrals, and support scheduling with physicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Two (2) years of experience working as a Patient Service Rep in an outpatient medical office setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides outstanding customer service through successful intake, prioritization, and resolution of calls for a multi-specialty team.
• Greets patients and assists with resolving patient issues.
• Check-in and out patients and collect co-payments/give receipts/reconcile payments; verifies demographic and insurance data in CS-Link.
• Schedules appointments, completes patient registration, collects payments and provides high standard of patient service.
• Assists with physician schedules and opportunities for improvement; handles patient/provider correspondence as instructed.
• Processes and tracks referrals and authorizations for various insurance types.
• Manages patient care flow and monitors CS-Link message pools and standard work.
• Monitors and assesses own workflow to find opportunities for improvement.
• Explains policies, procedures, or services to patients using administrative knowledge.
• Participates in daily huddles and staff meetings.
• Promotes and practices infection prevention standards and all department policies and procedures.
