Job summary

Summit Health in White Plains, NY is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to support patient intake, scheduling, and billing. You will greet patients, verify insurance, collect payments, and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced multispecialty environment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, excellent English communication, and strong customer service skills. Prior PSR experience and familiarity with EHR systems are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• Associate Degree preferred.
• Knowledge of medical office terminology preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Must have excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Greets visitors, patients, and families in a friendly professional manner and directs them appropriately.
• Maintains an efficient patient flow through the registration process and provides excellent customer service to patients/families.
• Answers the telephone promptly and directs calls appropriately, takes accurate messages.
• Posts all self-pay charges, collects payments, and provides receipts; reconciles daily payments.
• Scans insurance cards and processes insurance verifications in the online system.
• Updates patient information including demographics and insurance.
• Schedules appointments accurately per guidelines and confirms future appointments.
• Performs various clerical duties and supports multiple office locations.
