Job summary

Summit Health seeks a Patient Service Representative to join our multidisciplinary medical office team. You will support the Care Team by handling registration, scheduling, insurance verification and patient communications to ensure efficient operations and a positive patient experience.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, strong English communication, excellent customer service, and the ability to multitask across clerical duties in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a dynamic setting.

Responsibilities

• Greets visitors and directs them appropriately.
• Maintains efficient patient flow during registration and provides excellent service.
• Prompts and routes telephone calls; takes and forwards messages.
• Updates patient information in the EHR, including demographics and insurance data.
• Schedules appointments and handles referrals and pre-authorizations.
• Performs standard clerical duties such as faxing, scanning, and filing.
