Job summary

Summit Health is seeking a Patient Service Representative to greet patients, manage registrations, and coordinate scheduling with a focus on excellent customer service in a fast paced healthcare environment.

The role involves handling payments, verifications, and coordinating with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow across multiple locations in New York. Strong English communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required. Associate Degree preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of medical office terminology preferred.
• Basic proficiency in computer use required.

Responsibilities

• Greets visitors, patients, and families in a friendly professional manner and directs them appropriately.
• Maintains an efficient patient flow through the registration process and provides excellent customer service to patients/families.
• Prompts answers the telephone, directs all calls appropriately, takes an accurate message and delivers to the appropriate individual.
• Informs patients of delays in physician schedules, assists with patient comfort while delayed.
• Posts all self pay charges, collects payments, and provides patient with receipt. Reconciles daily payments and billing slips.
