Job summary

Elk Ridge Community Health seeks a Patient Relations Representative to greet patients, monitor the patient portal, verify demographics and insurance, and secure referrals and health records as needed.

The role includes checking in/out patients, scheduling Telehealth and follow-up appointments, and collecting balances while updating the EHR and maintaining HIPAA-compliant communications with patients and families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• 7–11 months in data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation.
• Level I fingerprint clearance card: current valid and in good standing or applied for within seven working days after starting employment.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, check-in, verify demographics, insurance, referrals, and enter data into the EHR system.
• Scan documents daily and manage patient portal communications.
• Schedule Telehealth and other internal appointments; answer calls and coordinate with providers and staff.
• Collect patient payments and explain benefits within HIPAA guidelines.
• Maintain updated schedules, open tickets, and assist with insurance follow-ups.
• Verify documents, ensure proper workflow, and support clinic staff as needed.
