Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. is seeking a Patient Service Representative to be the initial connection with patients, providing courteous, professional service and assisting with intake, scheduling, and insurance processes, in a North Ogden clinic.

The role requires compassionate care, accuracy in EMR documentation, and ability to explain financial assistance options while maintaining PHI privacy and a collaborative attitude with caregivers.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience.
• Basic computer skills including word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI of patients, members, and caregivers.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and caregivers to deliver high-quality service.

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous and professional connections with patients over the phone, in person or via secure messaging.
• Documents all phone calls accurately in the EMR.
• Schedules patient appointments for visits, procedures, tests, referrals, and consultations.
• Registers patients by confirming and updating required demographic data.
• Obtains insurance cards and IDs, verifies information for insurance coordination of benefits.
• Assists patients in completing forms for regulatory and billing needs, educates on financial assistance, and processes payments.
• Keeps abreast of role responsibilities by reviewing communications and attending meetings.
