Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a friendly and organized Patient Service Representative to support patient check-in/out, scheduling, and front-desk operations at our New Jersey satellite offices. You will greet patients, verify insurance, collect payments, and coordinate with clinical teams to keep the schedule running smoothly.

The role emphasizes exceptional customer service, accurate data entry, and proficient use of EHR/Practice Management systems.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
Previous PSR experience preferred.
Excellent customer service and English communication skills.
Knowledge of medical office terminology and basic computer use.
Experience with EHR and Practice Management Systems preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet visitors, patients and families in a friendly, professional manner and direct them appropriately.
Maintain efficient patient flow through registration and provide excellent service.
Answer phone calls promptly, route them correctly and take accurate messages.
Inform patients of delays and assist with comfort while schedules are adjusted.
Post self-pay charges, collect payments, issue receipts, and reconcile daily payments.
Scan insurance cards, verify coverage, and update patient accounts.
Schedule appointments according to guidelines and reconcile waitlists.
Arrange and enter orders for diagnostic tests following workflows.
Collaborate with clinical staff for timely pre-authorizations and referrals.
