Job summary

CareSouth Medical and Dental is seeking a Patient Engagement Representative in Baton Rouge to deliver high-quality, compassionate service to patients. The role focuses on accurate data entry into the EMR, scheduling, and resolving patient inquiries with empathy and professionalism.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, validating information, handling payments, and coordinating with the Call Center to meet patient needs. Travel to satellite offices may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of Medical Office Administration program preferred.
• 1+ year medical office experience preferred.
• Ability to learn Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Friendly and compassionate disposition.
• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to resolve conflicts.
• Performs all job responsibilities in full compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients, families, and providers in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
• Enter patient demographic data and insurance records into the EMR accurately.
• Schedule and verify appointments and handling cancellations as needed.
• Coordinate with Call Center regarding scheduling and patient needs.
• Collect and review patient information including income and insurance verification.
• Explain promissory notes and document accordingly.
• Maintain confidential patient records and resolve issues with urgency.
• Travel to satellite offices to provide staff relief as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
