Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years in a health care business office setting.
• 3+ years of cash handling or payment posting experience.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
• Experience working with a diverse population.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Greet the public and assist with scheduling appointments.
• Maintain patient flow and manage admissions and discharges.
• Enter and update patient demographics and insurance information in the EHR.
• Verify insurance coverage at time of service and educate on patient portal.
• Handle inbound calls and arrange or confirm appointments as needed.
• Maintain patient medical records and coordinate with medical records staff.
• Collect payments and coordinate with financial counseling as needed.
