Job summary

OrthoVirginia Inc. is seeking a Registration Coordinator to be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring welcoming, organized, and efficient visits.

You will coordinate appointments, verify insurance, support communications, and help maintain smooth daily operations across locations in Lynchburg and beyond. Responsibilities include patient check-in, data accuracy, eligibility verification, and collaboration with providers, clinical staff, and billing teams to deliver outstanding patient

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in customer service, patient registration, scheduling, healthcare administration, or a medical office setting.
• Knowledge of insurance verification, prior authorizations, patient registration, or healthcare billing processes.
• Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to build positive relationships with patients and teammates.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and exceptional customer service.
• Schedule appointments, answer calls, and manage communications via phone, email, and fax.
• Register patients and maintain demographic, insurance, and medical information.
• Verify insurance eligibility, obtain prior authorizations, and collect copays.
• Coordinate with providers, clinical staff, and billing teams for a smooth patient experience.
• Support daily clinic operations with administrative tasks and record management.
• Maintain accurate patient records and follow registration/documentation procedures.
• Resolve patient questions and escalate issues to ensure timely service.
• Assist with office supplies and front office organization.
