Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists, PC is seeking a Patient Service Representative for our Physical Therapy department in Liverpool, NY. You will be the first face patients see, greeting them, checking in, and setting a welcoming tone.

The role involves front desk duties, appointment scheduling, collecting co-pays, and assisting with billing and records. Strong communication and organization are essential in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a customer service setting, preferably one year receptionist experience in a medical office.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience working with an EMR/PM system is required.
• Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• General reception to include greeting patients and answering phone.
• Check-in patients and verify appointment and billing information.
• Schedule appointments.
• Collect co-pays and co-insurance.
• Review paperwork for completeness.
• Review benefits with patient.
• Review missed appointment policy with patient.
• Set-up FOTO Intake Survey.
• Check-out patients and schedule follow-up appointments per the clinician’s instructions.
• Assist Clinical staff with follow-up FOTO status surveys.
• Assist Central Billing Office with Medical Records Request per Policy & Procedure.
• Monitor/Track Plans of Care for Certification.
• Scan documentation into electronic medical records.
• Maintain Active Patient statistics and scheduled appointments.
• Other responsibilities as needed.
