Job summary

Concentra is seeking a Patient Service Specialist to join our care team in Waterbury, CT. You will greet patients, manage registrations and scheduling, explain forms, and route calls while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

The role supports clinical staff and ensures a welcoming, efficient patient experience. Responsibilities include checking in/out patients with the management system, processing referrals, and maintaining supply and records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of state-specific occupational medicine requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors.
• Communicate wait times to patients and direct them accordingly.
• Obtain authorization to process patients for services as needed.
• Check in patients using the patient management system.
• Explain forms and ensure proper completion of paperwork.
• Answer incoming lines and route calls.
• Schedule/Reschedule/Cancellation follow-ups.
• Check out patients and distribute records.
• File paperwork and medical records.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and forms.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules.
• Attend staff meetings and training.
• Process patient referrals and coordinate with Client Support Group.
• Assist in daily administrative functions.
• Maintain neat, orderly facility appearance.
• Use reporting tools to scan and distribute employer results.
• Enter charges via internal system.
• Perform select medical assistant duties as assigned.
