Job summary

Rush University Medical Center is seeking a Patient Service Specialist at our Wallingford outpatient physical therapy center. You will greet patients, register them, explain visit processes, and help ensure a smooth check-out experience.

In this full-time role, you will schedule appointments, coordinate with insurers, and collect co-pays, while maintaining accurate records and high-quality patient service. Weekday schedule: Monday–Friday, 7am–3pm; compensation $18.00-$20.00 per hour; generous

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year front desk experience preferred.
• Insurance verification experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and provide information about what to expect during their visit and next appointment at checkout.
• Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone.
• Maintain regular communication with attorneys' offices, insurance companies, translation services, and internal teams.
• Collect co-pays, manage payer approvals, and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications.
