Baystate Health is seeking an organized Medical Administrative Assistant to support patient-centered care. You will welcome patients, verify demographics and insurance, collect co-pays, and route calls and messages.

The role requires accuracy with medical records, scheduling, and HIPAA compliance in a busy health system. Qualified candidates will have HS graduation or equivalent, strong Microsoft Office skills, and experience with scheduling systems, billing, and customer service.

Formación

• Must understand medical terminology and communicate clearly with patients and staff.
• Proficient with keyboard skills, MS Office, and patient scheduling systems.
• Experience handling medical records (electronic and paper) and basic billing processes.

Responsabilidades

• Greet and assist patients, verify demographics and insurance, answer calls, and direct inquiries.
• Verify referrals/pre-authorizations and provide provider updates as needed.
• Process co-pays and payments, balance cash drawer, and prepare deposits.
• Schedule appointments, manage waitlists, and send reminders.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance across processes.
• Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and office staff to support efficient patient flow.
