Job summary

Pinehurst Medical Clinic (PMC) is seeking a Patient Service Representative (PSR) to be a welcoming frontline liaison between patients and medical staff at our Sanford, NC location. You will greet visitors, collect payments, verify insurance, and schedule appointments for established and new patients, contributing to a smooth patient flow.

The role emphasizes accurate data entry, appointment scheduling, and coordination of physician calendars.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One to two-year experience in a medical office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
• Check in patients, verify and update necessary information, then acknowledge patients and check them out.
• Advise patients regarding financial obligations including co-pays, deductibles, insurance eligibility, etc.
• Maintain the lobby in a neat and orderly manner including keeping magazines current.
• Maintain and coordinate the physicians’ schedules, with knowledge of physician specialties and medical practices.
• Answer telephones and return calls in a timely manner, take messages and provide accurate information.
• Handle mail and paperwork, ensuring accuracy and completeness of medical records.
• Contribute to the PMC mission by delivering the highest quality of care to our patients and communities.
