Job summary

Pinehurst Medical Clinic is seeking a Patient Service Representative (PSR) to be a key part of the patient experience, greeting and directing visitors, collecting demographics and payments, and scheduling appointments.

The role supports the medical staff by verifying insurance information, handling inquiries, and coordinating physician schedules across locations; emphasis on accuracy, courtesy, and timely communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One to two years of experience in a medical office setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous manner.
• Check in patients, verify and update information, then check out, while keeping the physician's timetable in mind.
• Advise patients regarding financial obligations including co-pays, deductibles, and insurance eligibility.
• Maintain the lobby in a neat and orderly manner and ensure materials are current.
• Maintain and coordinate physicians’ schedules with knowledge of specialties and practices.
• Answer phones, take messages, and provide accurate information as needed.
• Handle mail, paperwork via fax, and medical records with accuracy and completeness.
• Be a key member of the PMC mission by delivering high-quality patient care.
