Job summary

CommonSpirit Health seeks a Patient Services Professional to be the welcoming voice and central administrative support in the clinic. You will manage phone inquiries, registrations, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling across multiple providers to ensure smooth patient experiences.

You will handle demographics, insurance verification, pre-registrations, and coordinating with departments like billing, while protecting sensitive information and following clinic guidelines.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have high school diploma and experience using computer systems or web-based applications.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail are required.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle sensitive information.
• Proactive, adaptable and service‑miented with understanding of clinic workflows.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and register patient appointments and provide information (addresses, hours, departments).
• Process phone, fax, email and other requests with efficiency and accuracy.
• Assist new members with introductions to available services and provider availability.
• Update patients on referral or authorization status.
• Answer and screen high volumes of calls professionally; route to providers as needed.
• Follow scheduling criteria and use scripts/decision trees to determine appointment type and urgency.
• Inform patients about prep instructions and requirements for procedures.
