Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to manage patient intake in our clinic, performing check-in/check-out, data collection, payments, and scheduling in alignment with established guidelines.

You will interact with patients in person and by phone, verify insurance, handle authorizations and referrals, and support financial guidance while maintaining compassionate, accurate service across the patient journey.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required at hire.
• Knowledge of medical terminology helpful.
• Familiarity with insurance verification and billing terms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient intake and data collection during check-in/out; collect payments.
• Verify insurance, handle authorizations and referrals, and schedule appointments.
• Communicate hospital policies regarding payment sources and provide financial guidance.
• Assemble and document necessary registration data; assist across pre-admission to registration stages.
• Use payer resources to assess eligibility and assist with funding resources or charity care as needed.
