Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking a friendly and organized Patient Service Assistant to serve as the front-line contact for patients. You will answer calls, verify insurance, schedule appointments, register patients and collect payments, while upholding HIPAA and privacy standards.

The role requires high school diploma with preference for an Associate degree and prior medical office experience. You will work in a team setting across front and back office in a patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and greet patients to coordinate flow.
• Verify patient insurance and update demographics.
• Schedule appointments using practice management and EMR systems.
• Register new patients and explain policies (no-show, financial)
• Collect copays and process referrals.
• Maintain patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Assist multi-practice coverage and train new staff.
