EvergreenHealth is seeking a responsible Patient Access Clerk to be the first point of contact for patients in a fast-paced clinical environment in Kirkland, WA. You will handle pre-registration, scheduling, check-in, billing support, and communication with the care team.

Responsibilities include insurance verification, patient portal enrollment, coordinating interpreter services, and managing appointment queues. A high school diploma and 1 year of customer service experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in a customer service role.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills across diverse individuals.
• Ability to problem solve, stay calm under pressure and maintain professionalism.
• Strong written communication and accurate spelling.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Active listening and de-escalation when appropriate.
• Prioritize multiple tasks and follow protocols.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient scheduling for in-person or virtual visits.
• Manage multi-line phone system and direct urgent calls to clinical staff.
• Set up and verify insurance coverage in systems and educate on co-pay concepts.
• Enroll patients on patient portal and explain features.
• Coordinate interpreter services and patient communications.
• Greet patients and assist with paperwork at check-in.
• Monitor inquiry responses within organizational timelines.
• Coordinate messages and care requests with clinical teams.
• Manage appointment queues and waitlists.
• Prepare outreach communications and support health maintenance.
• Process outside medical record requests and scans for HIM.
• Handle referrals and liaise with clinics, patients, and insurers.
• Collect copayments per organizational goals.
• Support staff training and maintain clean waiting areas.
• Order non-medical supplies and manage mail distribution.
