EvergreenHealth in Kirkland, WA is seeking a patient access specialist to serve as the first point of contact in a fast-paced call center. You will coordinate patient care, schedule visits (in-person and virtual), process payments, and manage messages and work queues to ensure a smooth patient experience.

The role includes coordinating interpreter services, verifying insurance coverage, guiding patients through portal enrollment, and routing urgent cases to clinical staff as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills with diverse individuals.
• Ability to problem solve, stay calm under pressure, and be professional.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Active listening and de-escalation.
• Prioritize multiple tasks and manage protocols.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient scheduling for in-person and virtual visits; reschedule and cancel as needed.
• Manage multi-line phone system and message flow; coordinate with clinical staff.
• Verify insurance coverage across systems and educate patients on co-pays and plans.
• Promote patient portal benefits and assist enrollment.
• Direct patients needing RN triage to clinical staff; arrange referrals and authorizations.
• Prepare communications (letters, portal messages, calls) for patient outreach.
• Handle other duties as assigned.
