EvergreenHealth is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to serve as the first contact for patients in a high-volume clinical setting. You will support pre-registration, scheduling, check-in and billing processes while delivering excellent patient care and service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in a customer service role.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and the capacity to communicate with diverse individuals.
• Ability to problem solve, stay calm under pressure and present oneself professionally.
• Strong written communication and legibility.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Active listening and de-escalation when appropriate.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and follow protocols.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient scheduling for in-person or virtual visits, optimize provider schedules.
• Handle multi-line phone system and direct urgent cases to clinical staff.
• Explain insurance coverage concepts and assist with portal enrollment.
• Assist patients with paperwork and check-in procedures.
• Manage patient outreach communications and referrals.
• Support infection control and maintain tidy waiting and staff areas.
