Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital’s Ambulatory Team is seeking a Patient Service Specialist to provide back-end clerical support and front-end services in a fast-paced environment. The role emphasizes patient-centered care and seamless scheduling across departments.

The position requires handling calls, registrations, insurance verification, and co-pay collection, with opportunities to support MyChart enrollment and interpreter services as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2 years of patient registration/appointment scheduling or customer service experience
• OR an Associate’s Degree and 1 year of experience
• OR a Bachelor’s Degree
• Familiarity with PC window applications for data input/retrieval
• Ability to perform basic math for processing co-pays
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive, proactive and patient-first experience for patients and visitors
• Triage and resolve patient issues using the HEART model
• Handle patient registration, visit preparation, telephone triage, insurance verification, co-pay collection and scheduling
• Support front-end technology to assist caregivers and providers
• Enter and maintain confidential patient information
• Educate patients on MyChart and Appointment Pass
• Conduct follow-ups to MyChart and web appointment inquiries
• Process daily workflow and participate in process improvement
• Maintain quality metrics including patient experience and first call resolution
• Generate staff/provider schedules
