Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Patient Services Specialist 1 to provide administrative support in a physician office, clinic, or similar setting. You will assist patients with check-in/check-out, scheduling and insurance verification, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.

The role emphasizes accurate data entry, professional phone etiquette, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced environment while delivering excellent service to patients and families.

Qualifications

• EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
• EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient duties including check-in, check-out, scheduling, insurance verification and answering phones.
• Assist with patient registration by collecting and verifying insurance information and entering changes into the computer system.
• Receives and directs phone calls; handles routine inquiries concerning practice services and hours of operation.
• Posts payments and enters charges into computer using appropriate codes; generates daily payment reports.
• Provides accurate patient, medical, financial or procedural information to patients or approved outside entities.
• May discuss financial arrangements with patients and direct them as needed.
• Assist with medical records duties as requested.
