Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Patient Services Specialist 1 to deliver administrative support in a physician office, clinic, or related setting. You will assist patients with check-in/check-out, scheduling, insurance verification, and answer phones to ensure smooth operations and a high-quality, patient-centered experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in medical office or healthcare customer service preferred.
• Ability to handle fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient duties, including check-in/check-out, scheduling, insurance verification, and answering phones.
• Assist with patient registration by collecting and verifying insurance information and demographics.
• Accept payments for physician/clinic services and post charges.
• Post payments and enter charges into computer using appropriate codes; generate daily payment reports.
• Provide accurate patient, medical, financial or procedural information to patients or approved outside entities; discuss financial arrangements if needed.
• Receive and direct phone calls; assist patients and visitors; respond to routine inquiries about hours and services.
• Assist with medical records duties as requested.
