Job summary

VillageMD is looking for a Patient Reception Specialist to support patients and deliver an exceptional experience from check-in to visit. You will collect insurance information, verify demographics, and ensure required documentation is saved in the EMR.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, scheduling appointments, handling co-pays, and communicating delays with care and professionalism. A High School diploma and familiarity with medical terms and EMR/Outlook are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Adept in medical terminology and insurance practices.
• Experience in primary care, family practice, internal medicine, urgent care, or ER preferred.
• Proficient with EMR systems and Outlook.
• Strong communication and patient service focus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in a professional, welcoming manner.
• Obtain copies of insurance cards and required documentation; save in EMR.
• Demonstrate demographic and insurance validation and inform patients on privacy policies.
• Schedule appointments and manage check-in/check-out workflows.
• Assist with patient comfort and communicate delays clearly.
