Job summary

Independence Health System is seeking a patient services professional to support patient flow and service delivery in our care environment. You will engage with patients and visitors, assist with directions and procedures, and coordinate transport as needed to maintain smooth operations.

This role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to convey complex information to a diverse audience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of complete procedure process functions and troubleshooting.
• Leadership, organizational skills, independent thinking, sound judgment, and knowledge of nursing practice liability.
• Ability to communicate complex topics to a wide and diverse audience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain collaborative relationships with internal care providers to ensure patient outcomes and a continuous flow of patient care.
• Speak to patients and visitors, making eye contact, introducing yourself, and offering help.
• Complete the patient communication form and establish the mode of communication post procedure/discharge.
• Facilitate transport to the appropriate department.
• Act as a resource with directions, services, and program information for patients, visitors, families, physicians and staff.
• Adhere to dress code, screen patients/visitors, and register visitors in VisiTrak.
• Round in Lobby to assure patient and visitor needs are met.
• Other duties as assigned.
