Job summary

Elk Ridge Community Health is seeking a Patient Relations Representative to greet patients, manage the patient portal, verify demographics and insurance, and secure referrals and health records. The role includes check-in/check-out, scheduling follow-ups, and communicating with patients and family members within HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities include portal monitoring, data entry into the EHR, document scanning, and back-up support for clinic staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 7–11 months in data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation.
• Level I fingerprint clearance card: valid and in good standing or applied within seven working days after starting employment.
• Certification in data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation (preferred).
• Bilingual English/Spanish with ability to speak, read and write in both languages (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Greet and check-in patients; monitor the patient portal; verify demographics and insurance; enter data into EHR system.
• Scan documents daily and manage referrals and health records.
• Schedule Telehealth and other internal appointments as needed.
• Answer calls, make and manage appointments, and route messages to providers and staff.
• Process mail daily and confirm document recipients.
• Support billing and open tickets, ensure accuracy of charges and holds.
• Provide back-up support for insurance follow-ups and referrals.
• Maintain multiple provider schedules and stay updated on local programs.
