Job summary

Providence Community Health Centers is seeking a Patient Services Representative to be the welcoming face of the clinic, handling registrations and coordinating with the clinical team. You will verify identity and insurance information, document visits, and support communication between patients and staff.

As a vital member of the care team, you will assist with appointment scheduling, maintain confidentiality, and communicate with a diverse patient population.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical secretary or patient services program is required.
• Basic knowledge of insurance plans.
• Ability to accurately enter information into EMR database.
• Basic computer literacy and excellent writing skills are essential.
• Effective telephone skills and clear diction for multilingual patient communication.
• Ability to speak, write and read English to interpret/translate medical and social conditions.

Responsibilities

• Greets, registers and enrolls all incoming and exiting patients, verifying identity, insurance and financial information and entering required data in an automated system.
• Provides communication services within the health center and between the health center and patient community; may serve as interpreter/cultural broker for bilingual positions.
• Coordinates care with the Health Care Team to achieve coordinated patient-centered care and supports the care management plan.
• Follows up with patients who DNKA to reschedule and reaches out for due or past-due appointments.
• Maintains client confidentiality at all levels of interaction.
