Job summary

Providence is seeking a Patient Access Representative to assist patients during on-site registration and arrival, handling demographic and insurance details and collecting patient liability as needed. You will perform financial clearance on scheduled accounts and ensure accurate, compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration.
• 3 years Experience within Patient Access of Business office setting.
• Experience with insurance eligibility systems.
• 3 years Utilization of medical terminology in job setting.
• Knowledge in medical billing codes.
• 1 year Knowledge of Epic Applications.
• Demonstrated knowledge of CPT and ICD coding and medical terminology.
• Basic knowledge of insurance and managed care payors, healthcare registration, Medicare Secondary Payor, EMTALA and ABN.

Responsibilities

• Register patients during on-site arrival and gather accurate demographic information.
• Collect insurance information and patient liability at time of service.
• Perform financial clearance on assigned accounts.
• Greet patients professionally to promote positive encounters.
• Ensure documentation adheres to regulations and compliance guidelines.
