Job summary

Valeris in Honolulu, Hawaii seeks a patient services coordinator to support care coordination and patient engagement. You will build relationships, explain services, and assist with benefit coverage while adhering to healthcare regulations.

The role requires strong communication, empathy, and the ability to navigate complex reimbursement processes. The position emphasizes proactive patient support, documentation, and collaboration with internal teams to ensure timely access to care and resources

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree strongly preferred or equivalent experience; high school diploma acceptable with relevant healthcare experience.
• Customer service and healthcare industry experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to work an 8.5-hour shift between 8 am to 9 pm, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with patients with proactive communication and timely services.
• Ensure interactions comply with healthcare laws and regulations.
• Demonstrate experience with pharmacy benefit products or immunology practices to understand patient needs.
• Conduct program welcome calls explaining available services and resources.
• Use motivational interviewing to involve patients in goal setting.
• Explain coverage options to improve patient understanding during post-benefits calls.
• Handle client inquiries not resolved through standard reporting processes.
• Provide clear information on reimbursement and billing to patients.
• Address FAQs via inbound calls and maintain professional service levels.
• Triage patients to internal or external resources as needed.
• Document patient enrollment and maintain accurate records in the system.
• Provide comprehensive information about products, treatment options, and financials.
• Identify and recommend peer support resources for patients.
• Coordinate shipment of products through patient assistance programs.
• Report adverse events and complete SOP-driven documentation.
