Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Patient Services Representative for our Dowagiac site to provide registration, concierge, and clerical services. You will greet patients, manage phone calls, schedule appointments, and assist with insurance/demographic verification.

The role emphasizes accurate data entry in EHR/EPIC, patient check-out, and supporting safety initiatives. This is a part-time, day-shift position working Mon-Fri.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer vocational/technical certificate (1 year).
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in insurance billing, access management, patient financial services, EHR, lab service support or related areas.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a concierge greeting patients/visitors.
• Performs clerical tasks: phones, scheduling, mail, supplies, and registration reports.
• Identifies and reminders patients of health maintenance gaps.
• Documents patient calls in EHR for routing/resolution.
• Registers and checks in patients, verifies demographics/insurance.
• Handles patient checkout and schedules follow-up appointments.
• Maintains medical records per standards; uploads documents into EPIC.
• Performs basic EMR/EHR scanning.
• Participates in safety initiatives and completes related competencies.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

One year vocational/technical certificate

1 year of relevant experience in insurance billing, access management, patient financial services, electronic health records, lab service support or related experience
