Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston, Inc. is seeking a customer-focused Front Desk Representative to join our healthcare team in Framingham, MA, with coverage in Waltham.

This full-time, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM role ensures a positive first impression for patients and smooth front office operations. The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years in a medical front desk setting, experience with insurance verifications and patient billing, and strong computer skills while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED.
• 2–3 years of medical or health care front desk experience preferred.
• Proven experience with insurance verifications and patient billing.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients promptly and courteously upon arrival.
• Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information.
• Determine eligibility and coverage for services across various plans.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances at check-in and check-out.
• Assist patients with past due balances and explain payment options.
• Schedule patient and diagnostic appointments accurately for multiple physicians, coordinating with internal departments.
• Follow up on appointments to minimize no-shows and maximize productivity.
• Address patient inquiries professionally and with care.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure optimal patient flow.
• Take initiative in solving problems and escalating issues when needed.
• Contribute to a positive office culture by demonstrating leadership.
