Job summary

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare (MLH) seeks a Medical Office Assistant to join the ambulatory/clinic team. You will handle front desk tasks, patient intake, EMR registration, and triage calls to support efficient patient flow.

Greet patients, verify insurance, collect payments, and assist patients with the patient portal. You will contribute to patient- and family-centered care aligned with MLH’s mission and values.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Preferred: 1–3 years in insurance verifications or authorizations.
• Preferred: 1–3 years in a physician office setting.
• Preferred: 1–3 years in scheduling.
• Preferred: CMA or Medical Administrative Assistant certification.

Responsibilities

• Registers new patients and updates demographics by collecting detailed information.
• Triages patient calls, schedules appointments and makes confirmations.
• Collects co-pays and insurance data to ensure proper payment.
• Greets patients and visitors; responds to information requests in person or by phone.
• Supports management and clinicians in front desk operations and basic patient portal tasks.
