Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health seeks a Medical Assistant to provide high-quality patient care in a team-based Primary Care setting at Mt. Auburn. The role supports smooth administrative and clinical operations, leveraging the EHR to manage prescriptions, orders, and documentation.

You’ll assist during visits, gather vitals, perform procedures as certified, and participate in health coaching and outreach to meet population health goals. Prior MA certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Health Science preferred.
• Medical Assistant certificate or CMA/CNA/EMT/phlebotomy certificates preferred.
• 0–1 year related work experience required.
• MA competencies demonstrated within one year of hire.
• Basic familiarity with computers and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Develops care team relationships to support patient goals.
• Assists during visits, manages flow and communicates delays.
• Provides hand-offs and documents in the EHR during visits.
• Performs MA duties: vitals, EKGs, phlebotomy, immunizations where certified.
• Supports population health through outreach and health coaching.
• Schedules tests, verifies insurance and referrals; ensures PHI security.
• Monitors OSHA compliance and patient safety throughout care.
